Two men charged with murder related to remains found in Plum Grove area

Authorities from Harris County arrested two men Wednesday, Aug. 22, on murder charges related to skeletal remains found in Plum Grove in early August.

The men are being held without bond in the Liberty County Jail. They are identified as Walter Antonio Mejia, 21, and Jimmy Alexander Villalobos-Gomez, 21.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. The victim was found in a wooded area behind the Grand San Jacinto subdivision, part of the Terrenos Houston’s developments in Liberty County.

No other details are available at this time as this is an ongoing investigation by Houston Police Department. As the skeletal remains were found in Liberty County, the cases against the men are expected to be prosecuted by the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office, sources say.
