$1 million bond set for suspect charged in Plum Grove murder

A judge in Liberty County has set $1 million bond for murder suspect Sabrina Olarosa Garcia, 41, of Houston. Garcia was arrested at her home in Houston Tuesday by the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force for the U.S. Marshal’s Office and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

She is suspected of the 2016 murder of Esmeralda Pargas, 42, who went missing on Aug. 2, 2016. Four weeks later her skeletal remains were found on CR 3556 in the Plum Grove area of southwest Liberty County.

DNA testing later confirmed the identity of the remains as belonging to Pargas.

Authorities are not revealing more information about this case as it is still an ongoing investigation. The motive at this time is unclear.
