Big rig crashes in Devers

A tire blowout on an 18-wheeler carrying rubber mats caused a major traffic delay on U.S 90 near Devers around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck owned by C & L Vacuum Service of Daisetta left the roadway and crashed into a tree line. The truck did not lose its load, the sheriff’s office reported.

The driver of the truck was not seriously injured, authorities say.

Railroad traffic was stopped while emergency crews cleared the area due to the truck’s proximity to the train tracks.
