Mary Patricia “Patsy” Dismukes Mullins, age 92 of Liberty passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 in Houston, Texas. Patsy was born December 6, 1926 in Liberty, TX the daughter of the late Compton Higdon Smith and Alice Merle Patterson Smith. Patsy graduated from Liberty High School in 1944 and attended the University of Texas at Austin. She married Kenneth Terrell Dismukes in 1947 and had two children, Lettye and Terrell. After Kenneth’s untimely death in 1974, Patsy took over the reins for 10 years at Tarver Abstract and Title Insurance Company, the family business that was started in 1903. Later in life, Patsy married Tommy Mullins who preceded her in death. Patsy was very involved in the community. She served on the board of Chambers-Liberty Counties Navigation District, the Liberty City Cemetery Board and as an outside director at First State Bank. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church and at various times served on many committees. Patsy was also a member of the Bridge Club and the Liberty Women’s Club. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Lettye Dismukes of Houston, and a son Terrell Dismukes of Plano. She also leaves her grandchildren Anne Marie Dismukes, Yana Marie Christine Dismukes as well as her great grandchildren Jason, Daniella and James. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Kuhn. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13th at First United Methodist Church (chapel) from 5 – 8pm. Burial will be held privately before the service. Memorial services to be held 11AM Friday, December 14th at First United Methodist Church in Liberty, TX.
