Liberty firefighters await the arrival of parents and children picking up toys through the department’s Angel Tree program on Dec. 18. In the weeks prior to Christmas, family members registered children and provided a list of items they wanted. The child’s information was then posted on “Angels” on the Angel Tree at the fire station. People in the community picked the Angels from the tree and shopped for items. Once they were dropped off at the fire station, firefighters, support staff and firefighter family members helped wrap the gifts. Liberty firefighters provided Christmas joy to needy children in the community on Dec. 18 with the department’s Angel Tree program. Liberty Fire Chief Brian Hurst donned an elf hat to hand out toys for the department’s Angel Tree program on Dec. 18. Bags were numbered with items for the children who were adopted by Liberty Fire Department through its Angel Tree program. The bags were distributed on Dec. 18 to parents, grandparents and guardians.
