On Dec. 14, 2018, CWO3 Ron Tash and Sergeant Major Sam Lewis traveled to Texas A&M University to take part in the commissioning ceremony of Dayton High School graduate Randy Schuldt to 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

Schuldt is the first Marine Corps Officer from the Dayton High School Marine Corps JROTC program.  He has spoken to the current DHS cadet classes twice this year, once before being promoted and once after being promoted.

Tash stated that his promotion and graduation from college has given the Dayton cadets another perspective on options that are available when joining the military after graduating from college.
