Reception held for new Liberty police chief

Gary Martin (right), the new police chief for Liberty, knows he has some big shoes to fill. He is pictured with his predecessor and former boss, Billy Tidwell, who was chief in Liberty until 2014 when he took a job in Tomball. Tidwell (left) turned out for Martin's official swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 10, to wish his friend success.

Two days after being sworn in by Liberty Mayor Carl Pickett, the official swearing in of Liberty Police Chief Gary Martin was held on Thursday, Jan. 10, with Municipal Court Judge Mike Little officiating.
