Two days after being sworn in by Liberty Mayor Carl Pickett, the official swearing in of Liberty Police Chief Gary Martin was held on Thursday, Jan. 10, with Municipal Court Judge Mike Little officiating.

Area law enforcement officers came to the swearing-in ceremony of Liberty Police Chief Gary Martin on Thursday, Jan. 10. Liberty Police Chief Gary Martin visits with City Manager Tom Warner after Martin’s swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the police station. Warner announced his selection of Martin as the new police chief at the city council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8. The council concurred and voted unanimously in favor of Martin’s promotion. 
Notes of support were written by Liberty Police Department staff on two whiteboards in the meeting room where the new police chief, Gary Martin, was sworn in Thursday, Jan. 10.
