Jack D. Collier, 74, of Saratoga, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born May 4, 1944, in Durbin, TX, to Addie Ray “Pug” Hendrix and Annie Evelene Costlow. Jack lived most of his life in Saratoga and worked as an Oilfield worker for Griffith Oilfield Services.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Cathy Guidroz; and brother, George Glen “Pond Water” Hendrix.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife, Lavern Collier of Saratoga; sons, DeWayne Collier and wife Angie of Saratoga, Shawn Maricelli and wife Brandy of Thicket, and Abron Tullos of Saratoga; step-daughters, Tabitha Hendrix and husband Ollie III of Saratoga, Rebecca Lee and husband Tony of Batson, and Lisa Bowman and husband Jonathan of Morton, TX; brothers, Thomas Ray “Tommy” Hendrix of Livingston and Nathan Hendrix of Saratoga; sister, Carol Owens of Santa Fe, TX; grandchildren, Kami and Sydnee Maricelli, Sambo Collier, Damon Collier, Cody Collier, Cheyenne Hendrix, Kassidy Hendrix, Kady Hendrix, Cortney Hendrix, Vanton Jr., Sunshine Lee, Summer and Bobby Bowman; great-grandchildren, his sweet girls, Mud Bug and Olivia Collier.
A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc. with Reverend Nathan Hendrix and Reverend Josh Alpers officiating, interment will follow at Felps Cemetery in Thicket, TX. A gathering of Mr. Collier’s family and friends will be Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. also at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.
Honoring Mr. Collier as pallbearers will be DeWayne Collier, Shawn Maricelli, Sambo Collier, Cody Collier, Eugene Griffin, Randall Benavides, and Rusty Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Ollie Hendrix III, Kevin Owens, Abron Tullos, and Tony Lee.
