The Texas A&M Forest Service is hosting a tree giveaway for homeowners wanting to add a few trees to their landscape. This free, one-day tree giveaway will be held Friday, Feb. 15, at Liberty Municipal Park gazebo.
Trees will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. to noon or until all the trees are gone. The park is located at 501 Richard E. Vinson Dr., Liberty.
Due to the limited quantity of trees available, homeowners will be limited on how many trees they will receive. This will help to ensure that as many individuals as possible receive trees.
The trees will be a variety of oaks. Other species may also be available on the day of the event. The trees are bare root seedlings and will need to be planted within a day or so after they are received. Planting guidelines and other information will be provided.
