Dallas Dwight Dorn, 43, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 11, 2019 in Dayton, Texas. He was born on December 10, 1975 in Grantsville, West Virginia. Dallas was one of five children to Louis and Marilyn Cavanaugh. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to many.
Dallas pursued a career as an electrician that led him to Merci Electric, where he worked for many years. He was always very caring and willing to help others when needed, even if it meant giving the shirt off his back. Dallas had several hobbies like hunting, fishing and spending time at the family’s second home in San Leon. He was a spiritual man who was deeply committed to his Bible and knew it well from front to back. Dallas also loved going to church and listening to gospel and contemporary music. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dallas was preceded in death by his grandfather Dallas Foster; his aunt Alice Godfrey; and his cousin Barry Godfrey. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents Louis and Marilyn Foster Cavanaugh; his wife Kristen Rogers; his children Dallas Dorn, Jr., Derrick, Eric and Chris Dorn, Arolyn, Savana and Shelby Rogers; his sister Crystal Pruitt and husband Garland; his brothers Shawn Cavanaugh and wife Jennifer and Brian and Ryan Cavanaugh; his loving grandmother Patricia Foster; his aunts and uncles Serina and Jerry Foster, Connie and Michael Vanderslice, Glenda and Billy Driver; his cousins Danny, Brittany, Kristy, Stacy, Randie, Trisha and Adam; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12pm until 2pm on Monday, February 18, 2019 in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street, Dayton, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 2pm.
