Events planned to assist military veterans in Liberty County

Military veterans in Liberty County should mark their calendars with the dates and times for three upcoming events.

On March 29, from 1 to 4 p.m., Lonestar Legal Aid will be in Cleveland to discuss discharge upgrades. After the briefing, individual appointments will be available to discuss each person’s status and how they can be helped. The meeting will be held at the Cleveland Court Annex, 304 Campbell St., Cleveland.

Also on March 29, from 9 to 11 a.m., a Texas Veterans Land Board Briefing will be held at the Jack Hartel Building, 318 San Jacinto St., Liberty.

The VLB will discuss the programs offered. The Homes for Heroes organization will also share information regarding the Military Home buyer program.

On the first Saturday of each month, Liberty County Veterans Services is hosting Veteran Meet-ups at Cleveland Historical Museum, 203 E. Boothe St., Cleveland. The meetings will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Come for breakfast and camaraderie.
