Shirley Lee Mefferd, 70, of Cleveland passed away Friday, March 15, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 14, 1948, in Ravena, Ohio to Eddie Pucci and Rosa
Lee Fuqua. She lived most of her life in the Cleveland area. Mrs.
Mefferd was diligent in all of her chores around her lovely home and
property and enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work and ordering Virgil
around. She loved her family. Nana, as she was affectionately known by
her grandchildren, they were her pride and joy and she will be greatly
missed by all who loved her. In 1997, she was instrumental in opening up
S&H Auto Sales in Liberty with her husband and was the driving
force behind it, like any task she took on. She was the first one there
and the last one to leave and was a major part of our success. If you
ever had the privilege of working with Shirley you found out fast that
she was special. She earned her money, worked harder than anybody I ever
met and loved her family the same way. Thank you, Lord, we couldn’t
have had a better wife, mom, and friend.
Mrs. Mefferd is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Humansky; her infant, Angel; and sister, Dawn Marie Prince.
Those left to cherish her memory are; her loving husband of 40
years, Virgil Howard Mefferd; sons, Chris J. Mefferd and wife LaNeigh of
Rye, TX, and Jeff H Mefferd and wife Laura of Daisette; daughters,
Melissa Dawn Souleret of Florida, and Kimberly Gibson of Florida;
grandchildren, Angelica, Cheyene, Kristen, Jacob, Chelsea, Steven,
Savanaha, Alexis, Christopher, Tyler, Trinity, Blake, and Kaylee, 11
great-grandchildren; and a host of loving family and friends.
A service of remembrance will be Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Faith
& Family Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend
Woody Sonnier officiating, interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in
Rye, TX. A gathering of Mrs. Mefferd’s family and friends will be
Tuesday, March 19, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Faith &
Family Funeral Services.
