Residents were able to meet Vine, who started with the city on Jan. 7, after previously leading the Gladewater Police Department. In addition to serving as chief in Dayton, Vine is the deputy city manager working alongside City Manager Theo Melancon, who also came to Dayton by way of Gladewater.
