Raymond Daniel Presnull

Raymond Daniel Presnull, 81, lifelong resident of Dayton, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Kingwood, Texas. He was born on May 2, 1937 in Liberty, Texas to Eddie and Elizabeth Grimes Presnull. Raymond began working as a mechanic at a young age. He always enjoyed fixing things. Raymond later became a logger, working for more than 35 years logging until his retirement.

Raymond was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to many. He loved nothing more than helping others. Raymond was always prepared to help by carrying wrenches in the pocket of his overalls. Not only did he enjoy doing mechanic work, he liked teaching others how to do things even more. Raymond pursued many interests, some of which included working on his saw mill, vegetable gardening, hunting, fishing and hog catching. He will always be remembered for his famous bacon and sausage from his hogs. Raymond also raised Blue catfish and Bass in his pond, not to mention the occasional alligator.

Raymond was a Christian man who enjoyed going to church. He was a member of the New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland for many years and regularly attended Rural Shade Baptist Church in Tarkington.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 42 years Beverly Presnull; his children Mark and Cynthia Presnull; and his siblings Margaret Presnull, R.H. Presnull, Edward Presnull, Tommy Presnull and Marie Presnull. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children Tammy Presnull and Walter Presnull; his grandchildren Matt Presnull, Jack Presnull, Janna Presnull, Shaina Presnull and Blaine Presnull; his great-grandchildren Jadalyn Stevens, Alyssa Presnull, Dustin Presnull and Dylan Presnull; his siblings Delia Presnull and Earl J. Herman; his furbaby Yorkie, TK; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Raymond will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11am until 1pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in the Chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton, with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. A private interment will be in held in Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie.
