Paul Goodman, 68, of Daisetta, Texas passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born on November 21, 1950 in Newtown, Texas to Earnest Dayton Goodman and Eve Daigle Goodman.
Paul was a retired truck driver. Paul served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and has been an active member of the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post 5621 in Liberty for many years. He was very proud of his service in the military and we are grateful for his sacrifice. Paul enjoyed spending time with his cousin Henry Pilgreen and good friend Les Rogers. There are many infamous stories of their cookouts and practical jokes. He also enjoyed burning meat on the pit and loved being with his friends and family. Paul never met a stranger. He was always helping someone. He liked listening to French music and he loved motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson. Paul will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and special friend Shirley Dedear. He leaves behind to cherish his memory sisters Marguerite Daniels, Catherine Philpot and husband John; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Scotty Simmons, Jason Simmons, Chris Simmons, Scotty Robinson, Gayland White and Blake Sims. Pastor Bob Austin of New Hope Church of God in Vidor will be officiating.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5-8pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in the chapel of Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral services will be held 11am on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Allison Funeral Service. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow at Oakdale cemetery in Daisetta.
