TxDOT: Trinity River erosion on FM 787 being monitored daily, bridge safe

The Texas Department of Transportation says despite more erosion along the Trinity River bridge on FM 787 in Romayor, the bridge is safe for travel.

Currently only one lane of traffic is being allowed on the bridge at one time as one lane remains closed as a result of the erosion.

“We are currently monitoring the approach to the Trinity River Bridge on FM 787 daily. At this time, the approach and bridge are safe to travel in the current configuration. A project to stabilize the embankment along the river is being developed,” said Sarah Dupre, TxDOT spokesperson, in an emailed statement Monday.
