Body of missing Spring man found

Around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, volunteers with Texas Equusearch found the body of a missing 57-year-old Spring man, Greg Broussard, a longtime employee of Buckalew Chevrolet in Conroe, who was last seen on June 6.

Broussard’s body was discovered about 30 feet from his vehicle that volunteers located on League Line Road, on the outskirts of Conroe, Tuesday morning.

Investigators with Conroe Police Department arrived shortly after and started an investigation.

“Evidence recovered at the scene has tentatively identified the deceased as Greg Broussard. The evidence also suggested that Broussard died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound,” according to a statement by Sgt. Jeff Smith, with the Conroe Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Montgomery County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered an inquest.

“Forensic evidence will be used to help make a positive identification and exact cause of death,” Smith’s statement continues. “The circumstances surrounding the death of Greg Broussard are currently being investigated by Conroe Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Conroe Police Department would like to offer their prayers to the numerous friends and family of Greg Broussard during this difficult time,” Smith’s statement concludes.
