Dayton ISD voters elect new trustee

The unofficial results of the June 18 election for a contested seat on the Dayton ISD board of trustees are in with Chris Shumaker winning the seat.

Shumaker handily won the spot with 441 votes. Challenger Barry Pruitt received 327 votes.

The two men were forced into a runoff after each received 283 votes in the May 4 election.
