Liberty County Historical Commission recognized

The Liberty County Historical Commission was honored by the Texas Historical Commission with a Distinguished Service Award Tuesday during Commissioners Court.

Liberty County Judge Jay Knight presented the award to Linda Jamison, County Chair.

The DSA is based on annual reporting submitted by CHCs across the state which is broad-ranging and includes all areas of preservation work in the county.

During part of her 12 years at the newspapers, she was assigned as the digital editor and managing editor for the Humble Observer, Kingwood Observer, East Montgomery County Observer and the Lake Houston Observer, and the editor of the Dayton News, Cleveland Advocate and Eastex Advocate.
