Dayton teachers learn UIL coaching strategies in Austin

Eight teachers from Dayton High School attended the 23rd Annual UIL Capitol Conference in Austin this week.

They attended sessions led by the test writers and some of the most successful coaches from around the state on the various different UIL academic contest and had a chance to learn strategies for making our students more successful during competition as well as in the classroom.

Attendees included Charmaine Brooks (Accounting coach), James Kingsmill (Speech and Debate Coach), Melissa Luter (Spelling and Current Events Coach), Brittiany Miller (Number Sense and Calculator Coach), Elanie Rosser (Journalism Coach and UIL Coordinator), Diana Searcy (One Act Play Director and Prose/Poetry Interpretation Coach), Stacy Summerlin (Math Coach), and Devontae Wilson (Social Studies and Ready Writing Coach).
