William “Bill” Grady Stone

William “Bill” Grady Stone, age 61 of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019. He was born January 14, 1958 in Crockett, Texas to parents Harold Edward and Sharron Stone. He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Bill was a resident of Coldspring since his 6th grade year and went on to graduate from Coldspring High School in 1976. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy where he served his country for two years. Upon coming home from the Navy, Bill worked several years as a truck driver traveling across the country. However, his love for Coldspring brought him back home where he realized his talent as a carpenter working for Dalton Currie. Bill made beautiful, unique pieces that he hand-crafted from cedar. He loved to go dancing, listen to music and live in the moment. Bill was known as a people person and could get along with just about anyone. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his mother, Sharron Stone; son, Shane Edward Stone; stepdaughter, Madison Dowdell; sister, Sherri Stone and friend, Robert White; aunts, Pat Small, Betty Vick, and Helen Rowe; numerous cousins, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Coldspring, Texas with services to begin at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Dalton Currie. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas
