Noah Terrell, Jr., 86, of Cove, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, in Baytown, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 2, 1933, in Oak Grove, Texas to the late Noah Terrell, Sr. and Viola Blackwell Terrell Wiggins. Noah graduated from Anahuac High School in 1952 and after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, Vietnam and the Cuban Crisis. Noah worked as an aeronautics engineer and with power plant production with the USAF. He also launched test missiles and with automated motorized motor vehicles. Noah retired from the military as a Master Sergeant in 1975 after 22½ years of dedicated service. It was after his retirement, that he returned to Texas and married Juanita O’Brien. He went to work for Alimak Elevators for 10 years before his official retirement in 1993 so he could spend more time with his family.
Noah was an avid patriot who was loved by so many. He never met a stranger. He was also a cut-up. Noah was a dedicated husband, “bonus dad”, grandfather or affectionately known as “Wo-Wo”, brother and friend. He pursued many interests, some of which included hunting, fishing, camping, and bowling. Noah enjoyed tinkering with things and had a passion for woodworking. His favorite hobby of all was spending time with his family and grandchildren; he truly was the greatest family man.
Noah was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather George Wiggins; and his siblings Carolyn Sue Ripplinger, Betty Cathy, and Billy Joe Terrell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years Juanita Terrell; his daughters Darlene Stalbaum and husband Gil, Valarie Childers and husband Donnie, Idalynn Boykin and husband Johnny and Laura Lou Sylvia and husband Jimmy; his grandchildren Colby Morris and wife Mandie, Nate McGill and wife Courtney, Adrienne McGill and fiancé Brian, Hilary Otto and husband Brandon, Seth Childers and wife Sara, Jesse Childers and wife Alicia, Kara Dentler and husband Harrison, Kristina Garcia and husband Cameron, Jimbo Sylvia and wife Donna and Kalli Malone and husband Glenn; his 17 great-grandchildren; his cousin Stephen Pierce; and his sister-in-law Margaret Terrell; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Noah will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jimbo Sylvia, Nathan McGill, Colby Morris, Seth Childers, Jesse Childers, Glenn Malone, Cameron Garcia, Harrison Dentler, and Brandon Otto.
Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 12pm on Saturday, July 27, 2019, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 1201 S. Main Street in Anahuac. A funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home, with Bro. Danny Biddy and Bro. Ronnie Webb officiating. A graveside service and committal with military honors will immediately follow in Eminence Cemetery in Wallisville, Texas.
