James Harvey Bell

James Harvey Bell, 92, of Huffman passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 in Dayton, Texas. He was born May 31, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas to parents, Leon Henry Bell and Allison Aline Van Riper Bell.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Bell will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Lake Houston Church of Christ in Humble, Texas.

Mr. Bell had lived in Huffman since 1968 and had previously lived in Dayton for 9 years. He was an attorney at law working independently for many years. He was also an attorney for the City of Houston Parks & Recreation Department for over 20 years. He also worked with Stewart Title and Humble Oil and Refining. He was a proud graduate from the University of Texas law school. James was a part time Gospel preacher and a member of the Lake Houston Church of Christ. The family wishes to bestow their utmost appreciation to Brighter Days Assisted Living in Dayton, TX and Hospice Plus, Inc. who showed heartfelt care and concern for him in his final days.

James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettye Jayne Rawlings Bell; and his son, James Reagan Bell. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Ann Bell Deen and husband Ricky Ray; his son, James Rawlings Bell and wife Debra Lee; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Ben Lawrence Bell; and numerous other relatives and friends.
