Dayton Stars program grows to 125

Artist Noah Holden painted this design on one of the 125 Dayton Stars. This Star can be seen at 2585 County Road 2326 in Kenefick.

The Dayton Stars program reached a milestone with 125 now on display across the Dayton area. The Stars are being sold by the Dayton Historical Society to enhance businesses, yards and the city.

The concrete stars weigh more than 300 pounds, measure 36 X 36 inches and sit on a four-inch concrete base. The $300 fee for the Star includes delivery and set up. Custom painting is not included.

A new shipment of Stars will soon be ordered, just in time for Christmas. Anyone who is interested in purchasing a Star should download an order form at www.daytontx.org or call Mayor Caroline Wadzeck at 936-258-5414. Leave a message and your call will be returned.
