Suspect sought in Cleveland theft

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect in a July 5 case involving the theft of a vehicle.

According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, at about 5:30 p.m. July 5, deputies were dispatched to the 20000 block of Meadow Lakes Drive in Cleveland. The victim told authorities he provided a ride for a female he found walking down the road.

“The suspect told him that she was a nanny for sickly kids. The victim, in need of a caretaker for his house, offered for her to stay at his house with him and his wife to clean and do laundry for them, as he had to take care of his paralyzed wife. She agreed and stayed for approximately three weeks,” according to the sheriff’s office statement.

The victim noticed his 2015 Hyundai Sante Fe, with a Texas license plate of 7NWRM, was gone. On the same date, the suspect reportedly attempted to purchase about $2,000 of Visa gift cards at the New Caney Walmart using the victim’s credit card.

If you have information on the woman’s identity, please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 936-760-5800 and reference case #19A216951.
