Robert “Bobby” LeBer

Robert “Bobby” LeBert, 77, of Sour Lake, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born February 8, 1942, in Beaumont. He is preceded in death by his birth parents Charles LeBert and Bertha Gilda Lee, and his God parents Jean Esay Hidalgo, and Lola and Coy Sadler.

A long-time resident of Sour Lake, Bobby was a retired lineman/serviceman for Entergy. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his earlier years, Bobby’s passion was racing cars. He was a popular driver at the Southeast Texas dirt tracks, claiming numerous championships over many years. Bobby also used his talent restoring cars, especially the Datsun Z class. He would later trade his time on the track to time on the lake, where he was a great angler, winning many fishing tournaments. He and his wife, Nobie, started the Bobby LeBert fishing guide service, helping create great memories for all those they brought fishing. He was a member of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Sam Rayburn, Texas. Bobby will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Nobie Jo LeBert of Sour Lake; daughter, Rachel Leigh Cox and husband Robert of Silsbee; brother, Johnny Hidalgo and wife Rosary of Sour Lake; brother-in-law, Brian “Kent” Tanner and wife Aileen of Sour Lake; granddaughter, Rhaleigh Elanna Cox; nephews, Scott Hidalgo, Trey Hidalgo, and Clifford Tanner; nieces, Courtney Smith, and Debbie Watson; great-nephew, Truett Tanner; great-nieces, Whitney Tanner, Mandy Hinson, Kari Leon and Courtney Yates; the Lake Sam Rayburn fishing community, and a host of friends.

A service of remembrance will be Friday, August 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith and Family Funeral Services, Inc. with Reverend Bill Fabriguze officiating. Interment will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery in Moss Hill. A gathering of Bobby’s family and friends will be Thursday, August 15, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.

Honoring Bobby as pallbearers are Cory Rambo, Clark White, Ronald Wallace, Johnny Watson, Clifford Tanner, and Albert Collins. Honorary pallbearers are Brian “Kent” Tanner, Robert Cox, Gene Williams, Truett Tanner, and Mike Hickman.
