Ann Elizabeth Lee

Ann Elizabeth Lee, 80, of Batson, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at her residence. Ann was born February 7, 1939, in Batson to the late Claude Durwood Dees and Ruby Smith.

A life long resident of Batson, Mrs. Lee held several jobs throughout her life. She was most proud when she worked as a waitress at the family diner, Gina’s Diner. There she enjoyed interacting with the locals and always lending an ear and honest advice. She loved to cook and looked forward to family gatherings. Family was most important to Mrs. Lee. A true matriarch that will be greatly missed. Her legacy will continue with her loving family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Titus Carouthers and Rufus Lee; sons, David Paul Carouthers, and Charlie Wayne Carouthers; sister, Evelyn Straham; granddaughter, Jennifer Ann LeNormand; and step-son, Gene Lee.

Those left to cherish Mrs. Lee’s memory include her sons, Ricky Carouthers and wife Sandra, and Claude Marvin Carouthers; daughter, Gaylon LeNormand and husband Rudy, and Beth Johnson; brother, Dearl Dees and wife Abby; sisters, Ruby Tanner and husband Curtis and Claudine Fregia; granchildren, Richard LeNormand, Julie Weaver, Regina Riley, Ricky Dale Carouthers, Amanda Brackin, Eric LeNormand, J.C. Moody, Brittney Palmer, Gene Lee Jr., Michael Lee and Rebecca Lee. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A service of remembrance will be Saturday, August 17, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc. with Reverend Bill Campbell officiating, interment will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson. A gathering of Mrs. Lee’s family and friends will also be Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services, Inc.

Honoring Mrs. Lee as pallbearers are Richard LeNormand, Ricky-Dale Carouthers Jr., Eric LeNormand, J.C. Moody, Marcus Weaver, and Ryan Riley.
