Brookshire Brothers in Liberty donates to Meals on Wheels

Brookshire Brothers and representatives with GRACE Initiative's Meals on Wheels program gather for a group photo following the presentation of a $500 gift card to the Meals on Wheels program.

GRACE Initiative’s Meals On Wheels is the local non-profit recently chosen by Brookshire Brothers of Liberty to receive a $500 gift card.

Each Brookshire Brothers store is employee-owned and operated and known for pouring support back into the local community.

“This very generous gift is timely as well. We are planning a baked potato and brisket fundraiser sometime in October and this gift will help offset the cost significantly,” according to a statement from GRACE Initiative’s Meals on Wheels.

The presentation was made on Friday, Aug. 16, by store manager Gary Havard to the Meals On Wheels director, volunteers, and board members.

Meals On Wheels exists to provide hot, nutritious lunchtime meals to the elderly in the community that are at risk for hunger because they cannot prepare or provide for themselves. To find out more, visit www.libertymeals.com.
