A 42-year-old Coldspring woman, Calandra Johnson, is facing a charge of Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury for allegedly pouring boiling hot kitchen grease on her 44-year-old boyfriend, Carl Goudeau, also of Coldspring.

Deputies with the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office and EMS were dispatched to a home on Parker Street in Coldspring around 10 p.m. Aug. 14. Upon arrival, Johnson reportedly told deputies she and Goudeau were engaged in an argument over him kicking and breaking her computer, and various other domestic relationship issues throughout the day, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.

After the argument ended, Goudeau went to lie down on his bed, shirtless, when Johnson threw the pot of hot grease on him.

“The burns were very extensive and blisters the size of softballs were all over the back and head of Goudeau. Investigators are still sorting out the details surrounding what led to the argument,” the statement continues.

Goudeau was treated at the scene by EMS and transported to a local hospital for medical care. His injuries are not anticipated to be life-threatening.

Johnson has two prior arrests on misdemeanor charges. She is being held at the San Jacinto County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
