Cleveland PD urges citizens to report school-related traffic violations or concerns

Cleveland Police Department is anticipating traffic to pick up more than ever along many city streets as schools reopen for the 2019-2020 school year.

“We have seen the population growth in our area rising, and the vehicle traffic growing.  With the start of a new school year here in Cleveland, traffic will be congested for a few weeks along many public streets.  The north Washington Ave. at Charles street area will be a concern due to vehicles that line-up along the edge of north Washington,” said Cleveland Police Chief Darrel Broussard. “Officers will also be monitoring the Ft. Worth St. and S. Washington St. intersection where vehicles tend to line-up along the street near Sonic and Dairy Queen on South Washington.  Many that are lined up along South Washington are awaiting to pick-up, and or drop students off at Southside School.”

The Chief said that citizens complained about their personal driveways being block this time of the year.  He advises residents to report any traffic violations or concerns to the Cleveland Police Department by calling 281-592-2622.

“We are wishing all the parents, students, school staff, bus drivers, teachers, coaches and administrators a great year,” Broussard said.
