Liberty Opry hosting Rock ‘n’ Roll show this Sunday afternoon

Sting Ray Anthony will be performing at the Liberty Opry on Sunday, Aug. 25.

If you are looking for a fun outing close to home, the Liberty Opry is hosting Sting Ray Anthony in Jukebox Rocks this Sunday, Aug. 25, at 4 p.m.

Celebrating the first decade of Rock ‘n’ Roll, this nationally acclaimed, award-winning show includes all of Ritchie Valens’ hits plus tunes by Elvin, The Ventures, Bobby Darin and others.

Sting Ray Anthony is a Ritchie Valens look-and-sound-alike. Exclusively endorsed by The Valens estate and Chubby Checker, Ray Anthony’s show lets the audience experience the raw energy of the 50s wave-cutting Rock ‘n’ Roll. The performance is upbeat, positive, about being in love and all the good things from an innocent age.

Sting Ray and his band “Spinout” will perform a tribute to some of the greatest music in the history of early Rock ‘n’ Roll. Songs in the review include: Oh Donna, C’Mon Let’s Go, La Bamba, All Shook Up, Love Me Tender, Don’t Be Cruel, and many more.

For reservations, call 936-336-5830. The Opry theater is located at 1816 Sam Houston Ave., Liberty.
