Virginia Ann Roy Bean

Virginia Ann Roy Bean, 76, of Batson, received her angel wings, September 12, 2019, at her home with her family at her side. Virginia was born February 27, 1943, and lived in Batson most of her life. She was a member of the VFW Post in Liberty for many years. Virginia retired from Brazos Transit Transportation as a bus driver after 25 years. She was not only a hard worker, but she was also a fun, loving, and giving soul. Virginia is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Virginia has joined several loved ones that passed before her: father, Roy Clifford Bell; mother, Josie Beatrice Tanner; stepfather, Norman Tanner; son, Robert “Bud” Shorten; and brother, Bruce Tanner.

Those left to cherish her memory and loved by her family, husband of 18 years, Larry W. Bean of Batson; their 4 daughters and their spouses: JoJanna and Jimmy Gipson Sr. of Raywood, Sonja and Ray White of Silsbee, Helen and Chris Bergeron of Saratoga, and Heather and Jay Colvin of New Braunfels; sisters, Diana Cunningham of Webster, Peggy Hickman of Marshall, AR, and Charlene Tanner of Humble; 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends.

A gathering of Virginia’s family and friends will be Friday, September 13, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services. A service of remembrance will be Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 10:00 am at Faith & Family Funeral Services with Reverend Jeff Blizzard officiating, she will be laid to rest at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, fellowship will follow at Batson Prairie Baptist Church at Guedry Cemetery.

Honoring Virginia as pallbearers will be Christopher Kervin, Caleb Nancy, Christopher Louviere, Garrett Price, Morgan Price, Lonnie Ratcliff, Clinton Stockwell, and Jimmy Gibson Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Massey, Roy “Buddy” Bean, Jamin Ekvall, William Price III, Tommy Cunningham, Clifford Cunningham, Kyle Cunningham, Jimmy Gibson Sr, Ray White, Christopher Bergeron, Jay Colvin, Tyler Colvin, and Donny Scott.
