Cleveland ISD names teacher of the week

On hand for the Cleveland ISD Teacher of the Week presentation on Friday, Sept. 13, were CISD Asst. Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Nathan Boughton, Northside Asst. Principal Joseph Green, Northside Principal Pete Armstrong, DeMontrond Ford's Bruce Martin, Health Center of Southeast Texas' LaChandra Ryan, Cleveland ISD Teacher of the Week Krystyna Black, KORG-LP 95.3 Radio's Waldo Rodas, Northside Asst. Principal Jennifer Anderson, CISD Asst. Superintendent C&I Maria Silva, CISD Chief Financial Officer Karen Billingsley, CISD Superintendent of Schools Chris Trotter, & KORG-LP 95.3 Radio's Jeff McClain.

Mrs. Krystyna Black is the Cleveland ISD Teacher of the Week for the week ending Sept. 13, 2019. Black is a fifth-grade math and science dual language teacher at Northside Elementary campus.

Black earned her bachelor of science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Sam Houston State University. She has taught at Northside Elementary for three years. She and her husband have four children – three girls and one boy – and a dog named Koda.

When Black is not teaching, she enjoys traveling, taking time with her children and their various extracurricular activities, and creating memories with her family.

“Thank you, Mrs. Black, for the amazing job you do with your students, your co-workers and your Cleveland ISD Indian family. We are so glad that you are a part of our Indian family,” said Susan Ard, spokesperson for Cleveland ISD.
