IRS agents raid home of former Liberty County constable

The Hardin home of former Liberty County Pct. 3 Constable Leon Randolph was raided Wednesday morning by agents with the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigative Division, according to Pct. 3 Deputy Constable Hugh Bishop.

Randolph was a one-term constable back in the early 2000s but has since been self-employed, Bishop said.

The Pct. 3 Constable’s Office, now under the direction of Constable Mark “Maddog” Davison, was informed of the impending raid Tuesday night.

“They asked us to be the official uniformed presence. They usually ask a local agency to come by during raids to be a police presence,” Bishop explained.

As for why Randolph’s home was raided, Bishop could not provide any details and referred those questions to the IRS public information officer. Bluebonnet News has reached out to the IRS for information and an update will be posted if new information becomes available.
