Mr. Ray Brookshire, 81, of Liberty, passed away Thursday, October 17,
2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Brookshire
was born July 11, 1938, in Manning TX to the late Paul Brookshire and
Elizabeth Wallace. Mr. Brookshire was a retired electrical construction
supervisor for varies companies throughout his career. He was a devoted
patriot serving his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed
fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He was blessed with the talent of
building whatever he put his mind to. At his leisure, you would find him
watching western movies, especially those with John Wayne. Grandpa’s
joy was his grandchildren. He was a faithful servant as a member of Line
Camp Cowboy Church and will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Mr. Brookshire is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pauline Bennett
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years,
Carolyn Sue Brookshire; daughters, Brenda K. Long and husband John of
Houston, Kim Brightwell of Liberty; sister, Doris Rodgers of Lufkin;
sister-in-law, Doris Ann Rodgers; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and
Joey Steptoe, and Billy and Donna Steptoe; grandchildren, Crystal
Alford, Bryan Long, Jonathan Long, Jacey Brightwell, Jimmy Lee
Brightwell, Breanna Nichols; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Cody, Alexis,
Logan, Georgia, Joshua, Leah, Jayden and Kace also other families
members and host of friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday, October 27,
2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith & Family Funeral Services Inc. 40847
Hwy 105 E Batson, Texas 77519. A memorial service of remembrance will
follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harlen Strothers officiating.
