Moss Hill man killed in three-vehicle accident

First responders wait for state troopers to complete a fatal accident investigation on SH 105 near the Trinity River Bridge in Moss Hill on Wednesday.

A 78-year-old Moss Hill man was killed around 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, just east of the Trinity River bridge on SH 105 west of Moss Hill.

The elderly man was traveling westbound in a silver 2004 Ford F350 pickup and was attempting to turn into his driveway when he pulled into the eastbound lane of oncoming traffic. His vehicle was struck by a 2015 Ford 250 pickup driven by 47-year-old man from Spring, Texas. Another vehicle – a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup – driven by a 31-year-old Daisetta attempted to avoid the collision and ended up in the south ditch.

The Moss Hill man died at the scene and was pronounced deceased by Liberty County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Cody Parrish.

According to Trooper Daniel Hebert, the Spring man suffered minor injuries and was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital in Baytown. The driver of the Dodge Ram was uninjured.
