Sidney Larue Poole

Sidney Larue Poole, 76, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019 in Houston, Texas. He was born on January 4, 1943 in Livingston, Texas to Joe Poole and Lillian McPherson Poole. Sidney served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1970. He loved hunting, fishing, barbequeing, and boating. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and also riding around with his wife, Tresa and his dog, Lily. Sidney had a wonderful sense of humor and was very funny. He was an incredibly hard worker and provider for his family. Sidney will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lillian Poole; and in-laws, Eileen and Thomas Repp.

Sidney is survived by his beloved wife Tresa; children, Floyd Poole, Sonya Wingate, and Hollis Poole and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Pierce Poole, Preston Poole, Haylee Poole, John Moya, Micah Moya, Kaylee Santos, and Kenna Poole; sister, Katherine Ray and husband Danny; canine companion and driving around buddy, Lily; and a host of extended family and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be, Randy Heard, Anthony Poole, Scott Stiles, Bobby Mills, Marcus Rose, and Dennis Sammon.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 12:00pm on Friday, November 1, 2019, in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home, 602 N. Main Street in Dayton. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton.
