Ralph Martin Matthews, Sr. was born April 4, 1941 in Houston, Texas and passed away November 18, 2019 in Humble, Texas at the age of 78. He retired from the US Navy, after serving for 20 years, as an E-7. Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Martin Matthews and Bessie Adelaide Warner Matthews; sisters, Barbara Nelson and Becky Davis. He is survived by his loving children, Belinda Purvis and James Purvis of Crosby, Texas, Ralph Matthews Jr. and Joel Willnerd of Omaha, Nebraska and Harold Martin Matthews II of Forest Hills, New York; brother, Albert Matthews of Porter, Texas; sisters, Annette Engel of Mill Valley, California, Claudia Matthews of Cleveland, Texas and Marion Waldon and Lynn Waldon of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Purvis and Heather Purvis, Kayla Lee and Brendon Lee; great grandchildren, Chloe Purvis, Landon Lee and Jackson Lee.
