Dorothy Mae Nugent

Dorothy Mae Nugent, 85, of Daisetta, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019, with her loving daughter, Dorothy “Peanut” Ener, at their residence. She was born February 26, 1934, in Liberty to the late Carl Eugene Bracewell Sr. and Elora Norris.

Mrs. Nugent is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddie James Nugent; son, Freddie “Poncho” Nugent; daughter, Peanut Ener; grandson, Vernon Rodgers; brothers, LeeRoy Bracewell, Vernon Bracewell, Carl Bracewell, Eugene Bracewell, John Bracewell, and David Bracewell; sisters, Maxine Smith, Annie Seaggs, and Carolyn Madday.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Franklin Nugent and wife Barbara of Dayton, and David Wesley Nugent of Dayton; daughter, Patricia “Sissy” Simmons and husband Jim of Hardin; son-in-law, Wendel Ener of Daisetta; brother, Barney “Buddy” Bracewell; sister, Louise Quimby of Liberty; sister-in-law, Priscilla Bracewell of Liberty; grandchildren, Stacie Nugent, Tracie Nugent, Jim Simmons Jr. and wife Wendy, Chris Simmons and wife Mitzi, Mark Simmons and wife Kristi, Ashley Nugent Moomey, Bradley Nugent, John Moomey, Hayley Perkins, Terry Jordan, Russell Rodgers and wife Carla, Kimberly Rodgers, Rayvin Nugent and fiance’ Jason, and James David “J.D.” Nugent; 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granchild, and a host of loving family and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church in Liberty, TX with Reverend James Simmons and Reverend Larry Langston officiating, interment will follow at Freddie James Nugent Memorial Cemetery in Hardin. A gathering of Mrs. Nugent’s family and friends will be Friday, December 27, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. also at Pentecostal Tabernacle Church.

Honoring Mrs. Nugent as pallbearers are Franklin Nugent, Jim Simmons, Wendel Ener, Wesley Nugent, Russell Rodgers, Jimmy Simmons, Chris Simmons, Mark Simmons, J.D. Nugent, Bradley Nugent, Zane Robinson, And John Moomey. Honorary pallbearers are going to be several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
