Raymond David Coughlin, Jr.

Raymond David Coughlin, Jr., 86, of Liberty, Texas passed away on January 12, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his residence. Raymond was born in Liberty on December 29, 1933 to parents Raymond Coughlin, Sr., and Lorene Myrick Coughlin.

In 1954, Raymond was drafted into the United States Army. After being honorable discharged from the military, he went to work in the oil fields. He worked drilling rigs to work-over rigs. He also worked for Brown & Root as a foreman for many years. Before retiring, he also worked as a roofer. Raymond was a charter member of Bible Way Pentecostal Church in Liberty. Raymond loved to fish and we know if there is fishing in heaven, Dad has got a big one on the line! Go Dad!

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; loving and devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Aurora (Gloria) Coughlin; brother Francise Coughlin; and sister Pat Phipps. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons David Coughlin and wife Carol, Joe Coughlin, Sr., and wife Daleena, James Coughlin and wife Monica; sister Nancy Vaughn and husband Everett; brother George Coughlin and wife Rena; brother Joe Caughlin and wife Marilyn; and sister Edna L. Tywater. In addition, he leaves behind eleven grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers are Dewitt Thompson, Russell Thompson, Aaron Coughlin, Taylor Smith; Jeffrey Coker and William Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Everett Vaughn, Michael Coughlin, Glenn Zamazal, Joe Coughlin, Jr., and Adam Cassel.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11am-1pm on Saturday, January 18, 2019 at Bible Way Pentecostal Church, 7971 Highway 146 N. Liberty, Texas 77575. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm with Pastor William Persinger officiating. Graveside service to immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery in Liberty.
