Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who burglarized the same east Liberty County business twice in November.
The first burglary took place on Nov. 25 when the suspect and possibly others cut a lock and chain from a gate located on FM 770 and stole more than $15,000 in company equipment off a service truck parked on the property. Items taken were a Champion generator with a serial number of 18OCT1000210, band saws and other tools.
The following night, they returned, cutting another security lock and chain to commit another burglary. On this occasion, the thieves took eight rim-mounted tires and a suspect was photographed by a security camera.
Serial numbers for all stolen equipment have been entered into a national database for future identification.
LCSO Investigator Ann Marie Mitchell is asking anyone with tips about the identity of the suspect to call 936-336-4500 or the Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867). Crime Stoppers has established a reward for anyone providing a tip that leads to the arrest of the wanted suspect. All calls to Crime Stoppers remain anonymous.
