Mary Lou Puente

Mary Lou Puente, 88, of Lufkin TX, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Mary was born on March 5, 1931, in Sabine County, TX to the late George Richard Campbell and Fannie Creech. A long time resident of Saratoga, TX, her life was devoted to caring for her loved ones. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Saratoga, serving faithfully. Old granny enjoyed quilting and word search puzzles. She had a kind heart towards animals. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Ms. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; daughter, Opal Shoemaker; one great-granddaughter; two great-grandsons and one great-great-grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, James Messer of Shepard, Elbert Messer of Pineland, Jack Messer of Rye, Richard Rash of Pineland; daughters, Nelda Guidroz of Saratoga, Patricia Antilley of Pineland, Margie Martinez of Lufkin; numerous grandkids, great-grandkids, great great- grandkids and host of family and friends.

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Roadside Memorial Church, 14139 FM 770 Saratoga, TX 77585 with Reverends Randall B. McCoy, Frank Doucette, and Jessie Doucette co-officiating. Interment City Cemetery in Saratoga. A gathering of family and friends will also be on Saturday at Roadside Memorial Church from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Honoring Ms. Mary as pallbearers are Brenda Parrish Craigen, Jessie James Messer, Arnoldo Hernandez, William Antilley, Rickie Rash and Antonio Vazquez.

Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Vazquez and Douglas Parrish.
