Two people shot outside Cleveland apartment building

Two people were shot just before midnight on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Parkview Apartments in the 100 block of Charles Barker Ave, authorities say.

A 27-year-old male tenant at the apartment building reportedly told Cleveland police officers that someone had fire gunshots into his apartment, grazing him on the left side of his head. Another male occupant of the same apartment allegedly fired back toward the parking lot, where the shots were believed to have been fired.

The second male occupant suffered a gunshot wound to his should area.

A possible suspect was last seen fleeing north on foot toward Houston St., according to information the victims shared with police investigators.

“Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone,” said Cleveland Police Chief Darrel Broussard.

Both victims were treated at the scene by Cleveland Fire Department and Allegiance EMS medics. Both victims were later transported by ground ambulance to Houston area trauma centers with serious bodily injuries. Both victims are expected to survive.
