The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 2 Patrol Division received a theft in progress call at the 2300 Block of Legends Gate Drive in Spring, Texas, on February 2, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m.
“The caller stated they witnessed two suspects stealing mail and leaving the area in a Lincoln Town Car,” according to a statement from MCSO.
Deputies quickly responded to the area and were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and two suspects were identified as 40-year-old Christopher McCaffrey from Houston, Texas and 33-year-old Maygain Leija from Houston, Texas.
A search of the vehicle resulted in deputies reportedly locating mail from 19 different addresses in the surrounding area.
McCaffrey and Leija were placed in custody for felony theft of mail and were booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
