Shooting incident at Cleveland area gas station under investigation

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a shooting incident that took place at a Texaco gas station situated at 18919 Highway 105 E on Feb. 26, 2024. At approximately 5:51 p.m., deputies responded to an Assault by Firearm call at the location.

Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg who had fled the scene in his truck. The victim was later located at a residence on Hidden Acres Drive in Cleveland, Texas, where deputies provided immediate aid by applying tourniquets to the victim’s leg. Subsequently, the victim was transferred to a local hospital by the Montgomery County Hospital District for further medical attention.

In response to the incident, authorities from the Montgomery County Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, Gang Investigation Unit, and Crime Scene Investigators arrived at the scene.

After reviewing surveillance footage from the gas station, detectives identified that two males had opened fire on the victim’s vehicle as he was driving away. The suspects were reported to be driving a gray Mercury Grand Marquis.

As this remains an ongoing investigation, limited information is currently available.
