The Liberty County Community Coalition is gearing up to tackle the issue of food insecurity at its upcoming meeting on Tuesday, March 5. The event, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Entergy Texas Building in Cleveland, Texas, aims to bring together individuals dedicated to enhancing the community.

“As members committed to improving our community, we believe that addressing food insecurity is crucial to creating a more resilient and supportive environment. This event will provide an opportunity for collaboration, sharing insights, and networking,” said Maria Chiappe De la Flor, LCCC coordinator and marketing director for Texas Emergency Hospital Systems.

Guest speakers, including Christine Swaney from Operation Refuge, Sophia Johnson from Repair the Breach Ministries, and Christine Shippey from Covenant with Christ, will each provide an insightful overview of food insecurity in Liberty County. They will shed light on how the community can actively contribute to alleviating this issue.

The meeting not only provides a platform for knowledge sharing and problem-solving, but also includes discussion and a Q&A session. Additionally, lunch and refreshments will be served.
