Ila Adams

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ila Adams. Ila was born October 14, 1936 to parents Jesse and Vassie Martin. She was raised in Shepherd, Texas, where she attended Shepherd High School.

On December 31, 1953, she married the love of her life, Bobby Adams. Ila was a devoted wife and a nurturing mother, and dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her family.  A true bookworm, Ila enjoyed reading novels in her free time.

Above all else, Ila deeply loved her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than getting to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandbaby. She leaves behind a legacy of love and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ila is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Bobby Adams; parents, Jesse and Vassie Martin; brothers, Earl Martin, Donald Mack “Cookie” Martin, Gerald Martin; sisters, Norene Brown and husband Bill; brother-in-law, Frank Davis. Ila is survived by her son, Derek M. Adams and wife Cheryl; sister, Marie Davis; grandchildren, Morgan Booker and husband Jake, Kyle Adams; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Booker; sisters-in-law, Faye Martin, Grace Martin, Christine Cronin, and Dixie Lackey; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

A visitation for Ila is scheduled for Thursday, March 7th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, TX. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 8th at 10:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland, TX with Mike Allard officiating. A burial is to follow at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens in Cleveland, TX.
