Carol Ann Arceneaux entered this life on December 3, 1949, to the proud parents of Chester Braxton, Sr., and Annie Lee Davis-Braxton. She was one of eleven children born into the family. She was educated in the Liberty educational system and graduated from West Liberty High School with the Class of 1968. She furthered her education by attending the Academy of Continuing Education in Houston, Texas where she received a degree in Nursing.
At an early age, Carol accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Rose Missionary Baptist Church in Liberty, Texas.
Carol began her employment career by working at Autum Hill Nursing Home in Liberty, Texas. She had a vast employment history by working for Zsabo Food Service, and Occidental Petroleum. Her love for family prompted her to take a break from the outside working environment so that she could concentrate on taking care of her ailing mother until her passing in 1996. She then returned to the public sector by landing her favorite job working for Houston Independent School District, where she ensured that no child went without food.
Carol met the love of her life, Robert Blackmon, through her niece Marina, while he was working for A-1 Metro Movers. They embarked upon a relationship that lasted for over 30 years. Carol and Robert loved watching sports together and spending quality time together.
Carol is remembered as “The Life of the Party!” She enjoyed family gatherings and being the one to make everyone laugh. Even when there wasn’t a party, she could always be found listening to her music, cleaning, and cooking. Carol cherished her siblings. Her dedication and love for them was not only spoken, but evident in all her actions. She loved all her nieces and nephews, and shenever had a problem applying the rod of correction to any of them as needed.
On the night of Monday, March 4, 2024, at Memorial Hermann Southwest Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones, Carol was peacefully called home by her Heavenly Father.
