St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Liberty welcomes new priest

Rev. Brandon McGinnis

The Rt. Rev. Jeff W. Fisher, Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, will install the Rev. Brandon S. McGinnis as the 19th Rector of Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Monday, April 15, at 6 p.m.

Residents of the local community are cordially invited to this celebration of new ministry.

In keeping with the tradition of The Episcopal Church, this service is the occasion on which the parish stands before the Bishop to formally request the new priest be installed as the Rector. The service will include Holy Communion, with a reception in the parish hall immediately following.

Rev. McGinnis began his duties as the new priest at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church on March 17, 2024, becoming the 19th priest to serve the parish in this capacity since its founding in 1852.

Rev. McGinnis comes to Saint Stephen’s from Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Waco, Texas, where he formally served as both a Curate and an Assistant Rector. He holds a bachelors degree in Bible & Theology from Northwest Christian University (now, Bushnell University) and an Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Theological Seminary.

Rev. McGinnis is accompanied by his wife, Richelle Braswell, who owns and operates a freelance editing service, specializing in works of fantasy and cozy mystery.

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is located at 2041 Trinity St. in Liberty, Texas. Regular worship services are held on Sundays at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
