Marla Lanette Crump

Marla Lanette Crump, 63, of Liberty, Texas, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on September 15, 1960, in Pasadena, Texas, to the late Burl and Dorothy Lucille Hoffman, Marla’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and strength.

Marla cherished her time with family and friends, finding joy in working on the farm and relishing every moment on the lake. Known for her immense heart, she never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need, and her home was a welcoming haven for all. Marla was a force to be reckoned with—quickly resolving conflicts and always standing up for what was right.

Though she bore two children, Marla’s maternal love extended far beyond her biological family, earning her the title of “Mom” from countless others she touched. A former police officer, Marla later found success as a business owner and devoted stay-at-home mom, dedicating herself to nurturing her family and cultivating a thriving farm.

Marla’s compassion knew no bounds, and she reveled in the joy of building an ever-growing farm. One of her favorites was seeing all the babies that came with farming.

In accordance with her wishes, instead of a traditional funeral, a celebration of Marla’s life will be held at a later date. Loved ones will gather to honor her memory with laughter, good food, and fond reminiscences.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory, her devoted husband of 42 years, David Crump; her children, Sean Crump, CJ Crump, Jennifer Crump, and Haven Crump; her sister, Debbie Williamson; her brother, Ronnie Hoffman; and a host of cherished relatives and friends.

Marla Lanette Crump will be forever remembered for her boundless love, unwavering strength, and indomitable spirit.
